Scaling the heights for charity

Members of the team at Q8Aviation are often keen to take on challenging exploits and raise money for charity. The latest example is Benon Banya, Senior IT Analyst at Q8Aviation, who recently climbed Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, to raise money for the charity Survivors Fund.

Although Benon was hoping for pleasant summer conditions during his 1,344 metre climb to the summit, the fickle British weather delivered sub-zero temperatures, driving rain and 100 mile per hour winds!

‘I certainly wasn’t expecting snow at this time of year and the conditions were horrendous,’ commented Benon. ‘Although the climb was very difficult and took much longer than I’d planned, I had a real sense of achievement at the end of it. I’m very grateful to everyone who sponsored me for such a worthwhile cause.’

Undeterred by his experience, Benon plans to scale even greater heights by climbing 5,895 metres to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania next spring.

Benon, whose family comes from Uganda, supports Survivors Fund, a UK based charity that helps victims of the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Donations of any size to virginmoneygiving.com/benonbanya would be very much appreciated.
